Importing Your Contacts

Importing your contacts into AGENTVIEW allows you to quickly build your database and keep all your client information in one place. With a clean import, you’ll be able to filter, track, and follow up more efficiently.

This guide will walk you through the process — from preparing your CSV file to uploading it and completing the import.

Step 1: Prepare Your Contact List

Before importing, make sure your client list is saved in CSV format. The most important step is that each column has a clear header row (for example: First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone Number).

Headers help AGENTVIEW recognize your data and match each column to the right field during the import. If a column doesn’t have a header, it may not import correctly.

Pro Tip: Even if you don’t plan to use every column right away, it’s best to label them properly now. Clear headers make your data cleaner, easier to manage, and more accurate when importing into AGENTVIEW.

Step 2: Start the Import

  1. From the left-hand menu, click CRM Contacts.

  2. On the Contacts page, click on the Import Contacts button located on the top right side of the contacts page.

  3. On the Import Contacts screen, click Choose "Browse" to upload your CSV file.

As soon as the file is loaded, AGENTVIEW will automatically scan it and map as many fields as it can.

Step 3: Review Field Mapping

After your file is uploaded, you’ll see a mapping screen. This is where AGENTVIEW lines up your CSV columns with its contact fields.

  • If your CSV includes columns like Contact Type, Contact Status, or Source, AGENTVIEW will try to map them automatically.

  • If any fields aren’t mapped, use the drop-down menus to match them manually.

  • If your file doesn’t include a Contact Status or Contact Type field (for example, no Contact Status), just leave it unmapped — AGENTVIEW will assign a value of New Client Import.

Pro Tip: Double-check your key details (First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone Number, Contact Status, Contact Type) before importing. These fields matter most for follow-up and communication.

Step 4: Complete the Import

  1. Once everything looks good, click Import Contacts to begin the upload.

  2. When the import is finished, your new contacts will appear in the CRM under CRM Contacts.

  3. From here, you can open any profile to add more details, set reminders, or start transactions.

Tips for a Smooth Import

  • Clean up your file first: remove blank rows, duplicates, and extra spaces.

  • Test with a small batch: import 5–10 contacts first to make sure your formatting is correct.

  • Stay consistent: use the same headers and naming conventions across all imports. This keeps your CRM neat and easy to filter.
